The pupillage involves working with 3 pupil supervisors for 3, 3 and 6 months respectively. The first 6-month period involves training from supervisors in the work of a commercial barrister. Pupils have the opportunity to accompany supervisors to Court and produce written work for supervisors to review and feedback on. The second 6-month period involves time spent at County Courts, gaining experience of arguing cases in front of District and Circuit Judges. All pupils also undergo 4 x formal assessment and 2 x pieces of written work during their pupillage.

Pupillages last 12 months and for the first 2 months pupils work closely with 1 supervisor. Supervisor changes roughly every 2 months for the rest of the pupillage.
